Roses and Sladoled

Random things about Croatia:
1) Transportation on the main streets is either by car, bike, tractor, or horse
2) I don't remember seeing any overweight people
3) Schooling is different (I can't remember how. Ha.)
4) Smoking was very common (even for young teens around the age of 15). I pretty much saw someone smoking wherever I went
5) A person can drink alcohol legally when they turn 18.
6) Many kids would run around by themselves (without any adult supervision) and would be safe (from what I saw)
7) Roses are everywhere (country's flower)
8) Water is not free. You have to pay for every single fill. And putting ice in your water is a foreign concept to them.
9) Mostly all of the houses have big gates
10) Hot and cold do not mix.
11) You have to push a stop button on the toilet in order to stop the flushing process.
12) The word for band-aid is "dang dang" and the word for egg is "ya-ya"
13) Every Saturday, Nova Gradiska has an open air market where pretty much everything is homemade.
14) Croatians believe that if a woman (or even a girl) sits on concrete, then her ovaries will freeze and she won't be able to reproduce.
15) They put ketchup on their pizza.
16) Drinking during the meal is foreign as well. They either drink their beverage before or after they eat their meal.
17) They have salads made up of just tomatoes. I learned that the hard way.
